Universal Studios Singapore is located in Resorts World Sentosa, right on Sentosa Island in Singapore. This was the key element of the bid of Genting to acquire the rights for Singapore to build a 2nd integrated resort. The announcement of the consortium winning the bid was made on the 8th of December 2006.
Universal Studios Singapore is the only theme park of this name that can be found in Southeast Asia. It covers 20 hectares of land, which is about 25 football fields when combined. This is the best place to visit when you are fond of everything about Universal Studios and their creations.
Unlike the other Universal Studios, you need to wear light and breathable clothing once you’ve made it in Singapore. You must wear comfortable shoes since you will be walking around all the time. Don’t forget that the park covers 20 hectares of land. You might also want to bring along your ponchos between September and February, which is the nation’s rainy season. Expect occasional showers or drizzles.
The available amenities in this place are water fountains for drinkable water all around the park; park attendants that are willing to take photos of you and your company; strollers for rent right at the entrance and another one at the Jurassic Outfitters. You can also find motorized vehicles and wheelchairs, but they are only available at the gate. There is also WiFi access all over the place.
The good thing about Universal Studios Singapore is that you can re-enter the place right in the middle of your visit. All you need to do is get a hand stamp that will allow you to enter again and get to keep the entry ticket. With the hand stamp and the ticket, you get to return to the park on the very same day.
You can go directly to the park without having some plan ahead, but it is highly recommended that you do so as this will save you time from planning out your itinerary right at the entrance when you pick up the Studio Guide.
